Westminster Abbey

Founded by Benedictine monks in 960 A.D., Westminster Abbey has been at the center of countless major national events since it first opened its doors, including hosting every coronation since 1066 as well as 16 royal weddings. It also happens to be the final resting place of greater than 3,000 individuals (including that of the Unknown Warrior following World War I).

Henry VII’s Lady Chapel cannot be missed, nor can The Chapter House or Poet’s Corner.

Whilst you may be tempted to think that Westminster Abbey is primarily a historic site for important national functions, you might be surprised to learn that it is also a fully functioning church that facilitates 4 different services on a typical day.

Although this wasn’t my first visit, I have to admit that I am already thinking about how much I look forward to returning once again. I suppose that means that Westminster Abbey is a bit like potato chips. A few chips (or in this case, a few visits) are never going to be enough.

And that’s…Henry’s Take.
