The Pink Door

“If you see me walking down the street…walk on by. Walk on by.”

Dionne Warwick

After years of listening to @daphae11 implore us to try “The Pink Door”, we literally nearly “walk(ed) on by” it when we finally decided to visit during this trip to Seattle. As you can see from our picture, they aren’t much into exterior signage. I guess you’re either on a direct path here or you’re just gonna “walk on by” it. We’ve walked Post Alley many times before and I’m sure each of those times we thought nothing about that pink door on our way past it.

There are at least two reasons why we concluded that they take the preparation of their Italian-American dishes pretty seriously. First, the Arancini, Rigatoni and Meatballs, and Linguine Vongole were each worth the time we spent in search of this elusive and mysterious pink door. Second, anyone notice the statement featured on their menu just below the Tuscan Fries & Fried Herbs? And I quote, “No, we do not have ketchup.” 🤣

The wood floors, and the stairs descending down into the restaurant from Post Alley up above, hinted that dimming the lights and adjusting the decor could transform the vibe here into one projecting a small, exclusive jazz club feel.

Reservations are highly recommended, but we found their online waitlist very effective at getting us a table with minimal delay.

And that’s…Henry’s Take.
