I’ve decided that it’s time for me to offer my unilateral and unconditional surrender.
For those of you that have been following “Henry’s Take” for a while, you’ve heard my previous attestations that “I’m not a bread guy.” Well while still seated at our table at “The Goat & Vine” I was forced to take a long, reflective look in a figurative mirror and come to grips with the undeniable fact that I am now TOTALLY “a bread guy!”
I had no reason to suspect that my ongoing refusal to acknowledge my latent affection for baked goods was in jeopardy when ordering their “Bread Sticks & House Sauce”, but alas that is where my official downfall commenced. However, and in my defense, was the playing field really level? I mean their bread sticks are freshly baked, garlic brushed, topped with melted mozzarella and parmesan, and just begging to be submerged in the accompanying walnut pesto marinara. Seriously people! This fight was rigged in advance of the opening bell! 🔔 🥊
If there was any remaining hope that I could muster the willpower to deny what had already become my new reality, all hope was dashed once the “Jalapeño Lime Carnitas” pizza arrived. The last time I had pizza crust this good was in Florence, Italy. There are no words, so I now formally yield to the undeniable appeal of yeast products. 🏳️
