Ridgeline Trailhead (Carlsbad)

“Opportunities multiply as they are seized; they die when neglected. Life is a long line of opportunities.” John Wicker

We are always pleased at Henry’s Take when we are blessed to see one of our followers out and about. This week we were fortunate enough to see @jenaxford (with 2 little ‘future’ Henry’s Take followers in tow 😉). She provided a terrific opportunity to be seized (which we’re always interested in)!

She suggested that our followers might be interested in some additional activity reviews to assist with the calories that may be (hypothetically) accumulating as a result of sampling our various food reviews. In response to that brilliant suggestion, we hereby launch our new Trail Series!

Ridgeline Trail is located in Carlsbad, California (off of El Fuerte and South of Alga and La Costa Meadows Elementary School). There is ample parking at the trailhead and it is clearly marked. A round trip is 3 miles with a mixture of wide service roads and narrow trail sections. Overall the exertion level is moderate as there are some hills to contend with. A great trail for walking or running, biking is also possible for those at least of an intermediate skill level. This trail provides some wonderful views of Batiquitos Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean (with some lovely ocean breezes when you seemingly want them the most). Although you’re really never in a remote setting, it can feel that way, so we’d recommend implementing the buddy system when setting out for this hike.

And that’s…Henry’s Take.
