You ever had a band that you feel you basically “discovered?” I mean, you “heard them first” and just knew that they were going places, amirite? (@sbrown619 😉)
Well do you remember when they finally “made it big” and were elevated to a stadium tour? Well we realized this weekend that we’re sort of doing our own stadium tour this year. Admittedly for us it’s just the one stadium (Petco Park), but we are eating our way through the significant food locations there and reporting on them for you!
Today’s stop was the “Grand Ole BBQ.” In all honesty, it was a challenge for our Review Team to remain objective given that the new tenants summarily displaced “Phil’s BBQ.” For locals who might have been unaware of that fact, please allow us to finish our comments before you contact @petcopark to voice your outrage.
We “took one for the team” while taking in an @padres game and ordered the “Slow Smoked Pork Sandwich” and it was actually quite good. The pork, bun, and fries played the roles of great teammates on our plate. While there are a few options available, we were quite pleased with the “House Favorite Carolina Gold Mustard BBQ Sauce.” The only weakness to be exploited in this player was no additional sauce to be drizzled over our sandwich.
It is the contention of @grandolebbqyasado that additional items will be added to the lineup soon and we wait in anticipation to see if they choose to draft an offering of ribs to bat cleanup in their lineup.
And that’s…Henry’s Take.
