Pequod’s Pizza

The “2023 Chicago Deep Dish Challenge” made its final stop at Pequod’s. One of the many things that I’ve enjoyed while presenting “Henry’s Take” is exploring the great recommendations submitted by our followers. A special thanks to @jackvelasquez for his local insider information and for his repeated insistence that we include Pequod’s in our search for GREAT Chicago deep dish pizza!

Their crust is phenomenal and offers universal appeal, perhaps because the cheese is melted and burned onto the crust. Anyone out there prefer the ends of a brisket affectionately known as the “butt?” Well this crust is most definitely for you!

This is a fork and knife pizza, so keep your hands to yourselves. The only conceivable downside to this pizza emerged when Dana spontaneously uttered, “I’m not gonna want to eat California pizza now.”

If there is a “2024 Chicago Deep Dish Challenge”, the #1 seed and defending champion will be Pequod’s.
