Based solely upon the scrapbook pages for April, how many guesses do you think you’d need to guess where we went this month? While we knew we were starting our adventure with the Scratchers that Cathie provided, clearly we needed to “double down” just in case immediate fortune was not today’s destiny. With that foresight in mind, we agreed to meet at Pechanga Resort Casino.
That back-up plan proved useful as our collaborative scratching efforts failed to deliver the windfall we were seeking.
Cathie invited @jt3ruiz to join us as her good luck charm and that was a strong move as Cathie had separate payouts of $257 and $590. ☺️
Although I’m just a rookie at this, her good fortune flowed downhill to me. I was “feeling it” so I dropped $20 and at one point was riding such a “hot hand” that I had to roll up my sleeves just before receiving an $11 payout! (Work with me people, I’m new at this.) Sure, I ended up losing all of my twenty bucks, but it took more than 26 minutes before all my money was gone! Clearly with a little practice I’ll soon be competing on @wsop! (Yeah, I can hear the collective groan from those imploring me to not “quit my day job” just yet. Haters, gonna hate, I guess. 🙄)
It had been more than 30 years since I set foot in a casino and I was surprised that I detected zero cigarette smoke and that some of the roulette and craps tables were fully automated (with no dealer). If that level of automation isn’t your “deal”, not to fear because they also offer a full complement of traditional card and dice games.
The resort also offers a hotel, more than a dozen different dining options, a theater, a spa, a gas station, an 18 hole golf course, an RV resort, and plenty of free parking.
Finally, and this may have just been my imagination, but I sure felt like if you listen closely enough to the lyrics of the songs they play you can hear a nearly imperceptible gambling thread to connect each song.
