How did this all start??? Trust me, sometimes I wonder myself.
It was a process, I can tell you that. Although we didn’t launch this website until 2023, I believe that you can actually trace its roots back to 2016. You see, my wife and I traveled to Canada and I was completely unsure how to locate good restaurants while in Vancouver. With no better ideas coming to mind, I decided to experiment with Google Maps to see if they had any good suggestions. I hadn’t previously used it for this purpose, so I was quite uncertain how this would work.
In the end, I was quite impressed with the advice I was receiving. It was just one winner recommendation after another and those quality recommendations contributed to us having a great trip.
Sadly, when we returned home I did the “guy thing.” Yep, I totally forgot about what a terrific resource this is and stopped benefiting from it. Why are guys sometimes this way? (A rhetorical question, I suppose.)
Fast forward to March 2021 and history repeated itself. This time we were in Colorado and I found myself once again searching for good restaurants while in Breckenridge. That was when an epiphany occurred: “Wait, I’ve been in this situation before and I know what to do!”
This time, rather than only reading the posts of others, I began creating posts myself and found that I rather enjoyed it!
Fast forward to Christmas Eve 2021 and my wife and I were enjoying dinner with our daughter and my wife shared that I’d been posting reviews the past few months and that they had received 800,000 views on Google Maps.
After the encouragement they provided, but with some lingering trepidation on my part, I agreed to expand our efforts onto social media platforms. After a year of thoroughly enjoying those experiences it became time to cross the next threshold before us and launch a website.
So what’s next for us? I really couldn’t tell you, but here’s hoping that you enjoy our food and experience reviews enough to keep coming back for more.
