You can watch our video of the Oregon Coast below!
It has been my experience that the start of a trip is an important juncture when you determine the pace and cadence with which you intend to travel.
The goal for our exploration of the Oregon Coast was to give ourselves the space we needed to slow down and take a closer look at what it has to offer.
If you are the kind of person who just wants to log as many miles in a day as possible, a “just wanna get there kind of person”, then this trip isn’t for you.
From my perspective, if you want to do this trip right, you need to give yourself permission to make as many stops as you’d like.
All of the towns that we drove through are pretty small and they take their “quality of life” mindset pretty seriously. One of the locals that we met warned us that their definition of speeding is different than most and told us that speeding tickets have been issued here for driving 25 in a 20 mile per hour zone. A speeding ticket for driving 25 miles per hour? That could only happen in San Diego if you were driving on a sidewalk at the time!
As a runner, I loved the beaches that seemed to flow into eternity.
Ahhh, Oregon.
And that’s…Henry’s Take.
