The Newburgh Quarter is a several block shopping extravaganza just off Regent Street and quite near Piccadilly Circus. Its cobbled streets offer a densely packed accumulation of unique and boutique shoppes.
However, this experience is not recommended for the lukewarm shopper. Rather, this experience is likely better suited to those who have achieved semi-professional status. I say that because the near crushing sea of humanity can be so tightly packed with pedestrians that the fear of being trampled feels ever present. One can literally feel claustrophobic and this is definitely NO place to reflect and attempt to be alone with one’s thoughts.
As a novice shopper myself, I’m thankful to have run the gauntlet and survived, if only to contemplate how to properly celebrate this accomplishment. On that front I’m vacillating between purchasing a t-shirt or getting a tattoo to commemorate this occasion.
