If you pay a visit to the South and fail to sample some bbq…can you REALLY claim to have visited the South? Our Review Team’s consensus was a resounding, “Heck NO!”
Therefore, in order to ensure that our visit complied with all local ordinances, we visited “Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint” and are we glad that we did! Doing so not only helped us avoid any local penalties, but more importantly we were treated to a great meal!
We sampled the brisket, pulled pork, wings, and ribs and were thoroughly impressed. A couple things to note: the rub on the ribs was unbelievable, the baked beans were sweet, the green beans looked sketchy (but we’re really good), and the broccoli salad also had a rub (and it was unbelievable).
Warning: there is a hot sauce available (not on the table, you have to ask for it) that was nothing short of dangerous. Most of our Team was afraid to try it, but one person particularly committed to the experience and paid for it. Although he absolutely loved it (“spicy and sweet”) he was literally still teary eyed (and with a visibly flushed face) 15 minutes AFTER he had finished eating.
