In one of their most successful recordings the “Eagles” described a mysterious destination dubbed the “Hotel California” which offered a varied, but perhaps contradictory, set of amenities. The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay also offers a variety of amenities, but theirs are much more complementary in nature and are clearly headlined by the captivating sunsets available from your room’s balcony. So much so that in a salute to the “Eagles” I have dubbed this destination the “Hotel Sunset.” 🫡
In order to properly position yourself for these remarkable sunset opportunities you’ll need to request a western facing room (on as high a floor as possible). From there the remainder of your planning is pretty straight forward. The guest list, music selection, and beverage(s) of choice are all that remain.
Sure this property offers many day time activities including a lively pool setting (with 3 waterslides), ping pong, corn hole, gym, coffee destination (Market Mission Bay), casual dining (Pelican’s on the Bay), and upscale dining (Red Marlin), but I’d recommend making the sunsets your priority each and every day during your stay. 🤘
