Garden of the Gods

So just as I’m entering the “Garden of the Gods National Natural Landmark,” through my speaker I hear Bob Dylan launch into “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.” No joke! Coincidence or incredible timing, I’ll let you be the judge. 🙏

Easily accessible from all parts of The Springs, I’m not sure that you can rightfully claim that you’ve visited this area without stopping here.

Hikers, runners, leashed dogs, (more equestrians than I’ve seen on a trail in quite awhile), rock climbers, and even guided Segway tours are all welcomed here.

Although numerous portions of the trails feature challenging sections, there is a wide and paved walkway that provides access to the heart of this landmark for those with mobility concerns.

Although ample parking is provided, you may need to walk a bit (especially on weekends and holidays).

Admission is free and the views are spectacular (including some of Pikes Peak), so keep that camera handy. Bringing water for everyone in your party is highly recommended and I’d suggest setting aside a minimum of 2 hours for your visit.

And that’s…Henry’s Take.
