Only 3 countries to go as we wrap things up (along with that surprise ending I promised)!
Germany 🇩🇪
Schinkennudeln: In short…baked mac and cheese with onion and ham! So good and we got this fresh out of the oven as the food places started to open. It was delicious (especially the baked cheese part on top)!
Apple Strudel: With vanilla sauce! Quick poll around the room here…who doesn’t like apple strudel? Nobody right? We didn’t think so! Everybody loves apple strudel and the vanilla sauce was amazing, and this star made the stop in Germany so worth it.
Kenya 🇰🇪
Kenyan Coffee BBQ’d Beef Tenderloin: With sweet potato and corn mealie pap! One of the Epcot workers told me, “No matter what you do, get over to Kenya and try the tenderloin. You won’t be disappointed.” Boy was he right. This was up there with my favorite dishes, and when I reveal my top three it will be there!
Piri Piri Skewered Shrimp: Paired with citrus couscous, this shrimp was very good. While I didn’t like that I had to take the tails off, I realize that some people don’t care about having to do that. Otherwise the flavor was certainly there and that’s all that matters!
Belgium 🇧🇪
Belgian Waffle: Looks delicious, and tasted delicious (according to my sister) who chowed this down as I was sharing the braised beef with my mom.
Beer Braised Beef: Served with smoked gouda mashed potatoes – wow. This was my FAVORITE dish! Those of you who know me may have thought the gnocchi, but I’m not sure how long it’s been since I tried something that made me start smiling as if I were a kid trying something for the first time. 10/10 and easily my favorite dish here. It was a little chilly that day so this warmed me up and was absolutely delicious.
