EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival, Part 2

2022 International Food and Wine Festival, Part 2

Our travels together continue in these countries!

Morocco 🇲🇦

Pistachio Cake: A close second to the Lamington, seriously by a hair, and it was hard for me to say that. Spongy cake, amazing pistachio filling with the white chocolate design on top, so good I wanted to go back for more but I knew there was so much more to try!

Stone Baked Moroccan Bread: Who doesn’t love bread? It’s one of the hardest things to stay away from while dieting, certainly no dieting on this trip! This stone baked bread with hummus, chermoula, and zhoug dipping sauces were a fan favorite at our table.

Greece 🇬🇷

Lamb Gyro: Yes, I know, some think that I am boring. Spare me the lettuce, the tomato, and the onion. I am a meat and sauce kind of guy! Nonetheless, without all the extras to make it look more appealing, just the lamb and the tzatziki were really good on the warm pita (flatbread).

Spanakopita: Crispy, crunchy, perfect amount of filling, really enjoyed this one. Easily one of the sleeper best foods at the food and wine festival, not the star of the show when it absolutely could and potentially should be!

Italy 🇮🇹

Gnocchi di Patate: This rendition was prepared with a four cheese sauce and roasted mushrooms and it was a close second in terms of favorite “dinner” type dishes. My number one really surprised me, and will be revealed in tomorrow’s post, but just so good I had zero complaints about this. With my Limoncello Margarita I was way too happy.

Gnocchi di Patate: This version was prepared with vodka sauce and bacon and it was not bad. I have to say it wasn’t my favorite because the bacon and vodka sauces were a little odd to me. Otherwise, how could you go wrong with pasta, vodka sauce, and everybody’s favorite…bacon?

Italian Margarita: A Limoncello Margarita? Yes, please! Easily the best margarita I’ve ever had in my entire life. So good, so refreshing, it’s not overbearing so you can really enjoy it.

Stay tuned tomorrow as I wrap up this review…with a surprise twist!
