Downtown Nashville

Nashville. Just allow that word to settle in for a moment.

If/when you visit, what would your expectations be? Music for sure, right?

Well if that happens to be the case, then both Upper and Lower Broadway HAVE to be on your list of “To Do’s.”

If you’ve had the privilege of experiencing this first hand then you already understand this iconic legend. “Music festival?” Ha! This may resemble such experiences, except for that ALL the bands play at the same time! 🤯 No joke.

Wander throughout, we dare you! Nothing you have experienced prior will properly prepare you for this. Feeling adventurous? Well at some locations $100 not only gets you on stage, but it also will find you with a 🎤 in your hand.

Yeah, if your dated mindset predicts solely Country music then please stand aside and make room for the present because it has arrived! Please jump off that cliff and take a chance. If you do you’ll find a wide variety of music (yes, of course Country), but also featuring a full spectrum of quality songs ranging all the way from Etta James to Blink 182.

Most “Honky Tonks” have multiple floors (featuring different bands) and many also offer great rooftop experiences. Broadway is fully closed to vehicular traffic on Friday and Saturday nights, so walking about is much easier on those occasions.

Once you find your spot there are a few things to consider:

The closer you get to the stage the more the fan “drama” increases.

Jockeying for position is no joke. You may wanna sharpen those elbows prior to venturing into those waters.

Ear plugs are not a bad thing. You are not going to enjoy each performer (or you may just suffer from auditory overload). No guilt in simply taking care of yourself.

Finally, a nomadic lifestyle should be embraced. There is SO much quality and variety to be experienced. Hug it, hold on tight, and just be in the moment.

And that’s…Henry’s Take.
