Crumbl Cookies

Monopoly is arguably the most popular board game ever created. Remember the elaborate set of rules that are included? While those may have established a great baseline, we all knew that the “House Rules” are what really mattered. Each family seemed to know exactly what “local ordinances” needed to be implemented to make this classic game that much better.

And so it is with the “Crumbl Cookie Challenge”, a.k.a., “The Crumbl Bowl” and “The Crumbl World Cup.”

Crumbl offers 200+ different cookies that are rotated on a weekly basis, so clearly a system of evaluation is required.

Although we share with you how far our family has come when determining our “local ordinances,” please feel free to adjust these as you feel necessary.

All orders are take out only, so you’ll need to determine a neutral site for your event. This is an individual evaluation, so teams, collaborations, and allies are NOT permitted.

Cut all of the cookies into equal portions for each evaluator and determine the order of cookie sampling so that chaos is averted and all evaluators are sampling the same cookie simultaneously.

Evaluators must individually rank each cookie and absolute silence must be observed during the sampling period.

Once all samplings and rankings have been completed the evaluators may again converse, but an “honor code” is to be strictly enforced so that evaluators don’t amend their rankings just so that they can join an emerging pattern of fellow evaluators.

We sampled all 6 cookies available this week so each evaluator’s rankings were awarded points in the following manner:

#1 favorite (6 points), #2 favorite (5 points), #3 favorite (4 points), #4 favorite (3 points), #5 favorite (2 points), and least favorite (1 point).

Although the “Sea Salt Toffee”, “Molten Lava”, “Pecan Pie”, “Orange Roll”, and “Classic Pink Sugar” cookies all entered our competition, the “Peanut Butter Brittle” cookie was crowned champion and earned a near perfect score of 29 (out of 30 possible points).

If you come up with any suggested improvements for this competition please let us know and happy cookie sampling!

And that’s…Henry’s Take
