Quick: what comes to mind when you hear the word museum?
Probably not an immersive sensory experience where your interaction with the art is actually encouraged. And yet that is exactly what you’ll find at the Balloon Museum in Chicago.
A journey here offers both adults and children a truly unique experience as it meanders through a series of rooms featuring imaginative inflatable art.
Remember the last time you visited a traditional museum and the iconic pieces of art were roped off and displayed behind protective glass? Well this…isn’t that. While this is called a “museum,” it feels more like wandering through a garden of artistic creations and it will recapture the innocence of your childhood as you quickly abandon any desire to wipe that giddy smile off your face.
This traveling exhibit has already visited London, Dusseldorf, Brussels, and San Francisco, features contributions from more than 60 international artists, and is scheduled to remain in Chicago only through next April.
